Nhill/Dimboola Band secretary Neville Bothe is excited that the bands damaged tuba is now repaired and returned to the band room thanks to the generosity of the community.

The tuba was damaged on ANZAC day when the musician took a fall. The estimated repair was going to be $1600. The band made a call to the community for help to raise funds for the repair.

“The community has been most generous with donations to meet the repair,” said Mr Bothe.

“The money raised would just about see the cost covered,” he said.

“We thank the community for getting behind the band and helping us out with this unexpected cost burden,” said Mr Bothe.

“We can now return the borrowed one to Nhill College and use our own for community playouts and rehearsals,”  he said.

The Bendigo Bank and the Dimboola RSL Sub Branch both made a large contribution to the repair.  The community of Dimboola and Nhill made up the rest of the donations.
