Tidy Town champion Jan Ballard has been preparing this year's entries for Tidy Town competition.

There is a lot of work for Jan, who has to follow up all the projects around town in the last twelve months, with writing submissions and collecting photos.  Not only has the administration work been keeping Mrs Ballard busy, but also the extensive gardening around town she performs.

Last year Dimboola was nominated in seven categories, from the twelve entries that Mrs Ballard had entered Dimboola into. The Dimboola Warreguck Dragon Boats won their category.   Horsham won the overall event.

This year Mrs Ballard has a list of improvements around Dimboola she intends to submit, including the work done at the Avenue of Honour, the new cabins at the caravan park, the boating pontoon and the Town Committees Carols by Candlelight.

Mrs Ballard said, “if anyone would like to help they can make sure areas around town are cleaned up before judging. If you see rubbish lying around just pick it up and dispose of it.”

“There is always something that can be done to improve the town,” she said.
