Plans to refurbish a transportable building to be used at the Dimboola Riverside Holiday Park was rejected by council, at last week’s Hindmarsh Shire Council meeting.
The building had been moved to Dimboola from Nhill to be used as the caravan park office. On further investigation the cost of establishing the office was going to cost $140,000, by the time the road works were done with car parking, refurbishments, power and communication services installed.
There were also concerns that there would be a security risk for guests and staff, with the building at the front entrance to the park, and being too far away from the park itself.
The council voted not to proceed with the project and to sell the building by tender.
