It was a rather special night last Saturday for four Dimboola Bowling Club veterans.   Wimmera Bowls Director, Ann Hunt from Ararat attended the barbeque dinner to award four veterans their Super Veteran badges.

The first achievement to qualify for a Super Veteran badge is that the recipient must be over the age of 80. The award also recognises the service the recipient had given to bowls over their bowling career.

“Alex had not been able to help much around the club as much as he would have liked to, owing to his health, but has been a very keen bowler and loves his cigarettes,” said Mr Argall.

Alex responded by announcing he had not had a cigarette since February 1.

“David, Max, Alex and Geoff, the club salutes you all and thanks you for all your works,” Mr Argall said.
