The team of Clinton Jonasson, Kynan Jonasson, Shaune Winsall, Cody Polack, Rohan Richard and Isabella Orszulak got many placings and came fourth overall in the state championships. They also broke the record they made in the 'wet hose striking one disc twice with removable cap', event.

In the 'Hose and Ladder fives', the team came fourth, in the 'Wet hose striking one disc twice', they came fifth, in the 'hose and reel sixes', they came third and in the 'champion fours', they came sixth out of 40 teams.

In the ladies Hydrant Race, Isabella Orszulak came second.

The biggest result, however, for the team was breaking the record again in the 'wet hose striking one disc twice with removable cap.'

In 2023, they broke the record in a time of 17.57. In 2024, they bettered that time for more than one second in a time of 16.49. Second place completed it in 18.1 seconds, so it shows how flawless the team of Shaune, Kynan, Rohan and Clinton were.

Team captain Clinton Jonasson was thrilled.

"It was a really good weekend. We went over there with a fairly new team of experienced and inexperienced members and we did exceptionally well," Jonasson said.

"Breaking our own record was exciting. We thought our time last year was handy but to do it again this year, was excellent and everyone was thrilled.

"Everything went perfect for us. In fire brigade running, everything has to go perfect as you only get one chance and can't afford mishaps."

In each event you get points for where you finish in the top five, and the team came fourth overall in the championships. Jonasson said it was a remarkable result.

"I am really happy. Because we have younger guys learning, we thought we would go alright and to be really consistent over the weekend by the many placings is really exciting," Jonasson said.
