On the Saturday prior to Christmas a large gathering of local people gathered in the street for the draw of all the local Christmas raffles.
What was originally planned for the Dimboola Town Committee Carols by Candlelight event, that was washed out with rain, the Saturday morning event was arranged to enable the prizes to be won and given out before Christmas.
Ian Lehmann arranged for a few musicians to play Christmas Carols in a lead up to the arrival of Santa and his Elf to hand out some treat for the kids in the street. Everyone was in the spirit with some singing along to the carols and other wearing the traditional red and white.
On the morning the Lions Club announced the best three house decorations and lights.
The house at 187 Lloyd Street, 20 Anna Street, and the ever popular 10 Burnside Avenue were declared the winners. Bendigo Bank won the best shop front lights.
Ian Lehmann was called upon by Des Lardner to draw the raffle for the Cancer Crusaders. The winners were Joyce Nelson, Zoe Harberger and Gemma Cook. The Town Committee winner was Kath Porter. They each won a Lions Christmas Cake and certificate.
