Arkona based artist Angela Walker has an exhibition running at Rainbow’s Turbo Gallery. About fifteen attended the opening of the exhibition, “Dancing with the Environment”, on Thursday April 4.

Angela , a nurse by profession, broke her ankle about six years ago and decided to take up painting while she recuperated. Her colourful naïve style works use oil based paints on canvas and linen.

As well as the Rainbow exhibition Angela has her works on display at Gallery Central in Nhill and in Horsham.

Her current series of works on display at the Turbo Gallery, examines how Angela feels about her identity, what gender role-play means to her and domesticity within an agricultural setting.

Speaking at the opening, Angela said how pleased she was to see people turning up and supporting local artists. She thanked Belinda Eckermann for giving her the chance to have her works on display in Rainbow. Angela sees art as extremely important in people’s lives.
