Volunteers from the Dimboola East, Ladies Hospital Auxiliary were busy last Thursday preparing over 40 meals for a Mother’s Day Luncheon.
The Uniting Church Hall kitchen was busy with volunteers preparing what was a huge feast for a lunch.
A long dining table was set up for the length of the hall, that was fully booked and latecomers had to make a place on the church pews along the walls.
Shirley Kemfert was privileged to have her daughter Bronwyn Nagorcka come from Hamilton to enjoy lunch with her.
The well prepared main course included a selection of grilled meats and a large smorgasbord of salads that more than catered for the larger than expected number of diners.
Of course the highlight was the selection of sweets that included cheese cakes, pavlova and trifle.
The event raised over $1,000 and the hospital intends to install raised garden beds for patients to use.
