WHAT started as a fun way to raise money for a good cause, quickly spread throughout Warracknabeal on Wednesday for the

“Overies for Ovaries” fundraiser for charity Ovarian Cancer Australia. Rural Northwest Health’s activities worker Sonja Martinelli was the main force behind the day before many of the staff members came on board.

Sonja then asked Georgina Powell at the Warracknabeal Pharmacy if she would like to participate as well and the idea continued on from there.

The idea of the day is to wear underwear over the top of your pants to show your support for the cause.

“When the idea was first floated around the campus, many people wanted to get involved in some way,” RNH communications manager Peter Miller said.

“Many staff members have been affected in some way by ovarian cancer and this is just a nice way to give back to the cause,” Mr Miller said.

“It has been an extremely entertaining day for all, whether they were involved directly or indirectly,” he said.

Pharmacy manager Georgina Powell said, “We were happy to jump on board with the cause and every member of staff came along with their undies over their pants and happily joined in the fun of the day.”
