WARRACKNABEAL’S Bowling Club put the kettle on once more to raise funds for the Cancer Council on Thursday.
Over 70 people attended the event hosted by the club’s Social Club and raised $690.00 by simply enjoying a cuppa.
Many brought a plate as part of the morning tea and this saw everyone sit down with a steaming hot cuppa and the choice of a variety of sandwiches, slices and cakes.
Social Club president, Debra Steed, welcomed everyone to event and thanked all for joining in.
“The money raised today was a great
“Thank you to all who brought food and helped on the day,” she said.
Since Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea began in 1994, millions of Australians have come together over a cuppa and a bite to eat in support of those affected by cancer.
By hosting or attending a morning tea anywhere in Australia, people will help Cancer Council continue our life-saving cancer research, prevention, advocacy and support programs for those affected by cancer.
This year, Cancer Council Victoria hopes to recruit over 6,500 generous morning tea hosts and raise over $3 million to help everyone affected by cancer across Victoria.
