Dimboola Football Netball Club has secured Tim Watson, Sam Newman and Mike Sheahan for a luncheon in Dimboola on June 15.
Tim Watson played junior football in Dimboola before he was shipped off to the Essendon bombers as a 15 year old.
Tim played in an Under 16 premiership side in 1975 and was also part of an Under 13 flag in 1970. He then went on to forge out one of the the best AFL careers one could ask for.
Playing over 300 game for the bombers and being part of the 1984, 1985 and 1993 premiership side, he has many accolades throughout his time at the bombers adding four best and fairest awards just to name of few.
Tim will be joined by Geelong legend Sam Newman for the trip up the Western Highway, or possibly by helicopter. Sam has made a name for himself on television in his later years but like Tim, played 300 games for the cats as a ruckman.
Mike Sheahan offered his services for the luncheon as well ,not wanting to miss out on an arvo with these two sporting legends.
Mike has been a football reporter for 40 plus years and if there’s something to know about what’s happened in the game that Mike doesn’t know, it’s not worth knowing.
Having these three legends coming to Dimboola has been a massive coup for the town of Dimboola and the club.
The club host a luncheon on the June 15, for tickets please call or email Col Campbell on 0408 891 559 or [email protected]
