The Lakers won two games in 2022 and 2023, and in 2024, they are currently sitting on three wins in ninth position on the ladder and are a much-improved team compared to those years.

Not only has Beugelaar improved the team, but his professionalism and leadership have been outstanding for the young club, which is one thing the club has loved, according to club President Stuart Hall.

"I feel we have progressed in terms of our training standards and general standards around the club, and the expectations have been met," Hall said.

"Justin has come from a high level of footy interstate and has been able to instill some of that at the club and in the players."

"He has got through to the players, and they are listening. I believe we have one or two more wins this year."

"It would have been a great shame to have him wind up after one year as the senior team is feeling settled in his presence, and he is also a great contributor on the field and a great teacher."

On the field, Beugelaar has kicked 35 goals in 11 games, with his best being an eight-goal haul against Kaniva Leeor in round eight.
