Calisthenics, a team-based performing art that combines elements of rhythmic gymnastics and ballet, is known for developing strong, confident performers. The discipline emphasises teamwork, technique, grace, and poise, all nurtured in a supportive and friendly club environment.

This year’s competition will draw teams and soloists from various locations, including Mount Gambier, Portland, Warrnambool, Naracoorte, Echuca, Bendigo, and Ballarat. Approximately 350 competitors, along with their families, are expected to travel to Horsham for the event.

Principal coach, Mrs. Kylie Hermans, highlighted the positive impact this influx of visitors will have on the region. "People often don’t realise the boost this competition gives to the economy," she said. "Wimmera residents may not be aware of how much it benefits the region, with visitors staying throughout the entire weekend."

The competition will feature a range of events, including solo performances by participants aged 8 to 18 years and over, competing in Calisthenics and Graceful Solo categories. Teams across several divisions—Sub-Juniors, Juniors, Intermediates, and Seniors—will compete in six distinct items: March, Clubs, Rods, Freearm, Aesthetics, and Song and Dance/Review.

In addition, Horsham’s own Tinies, aged 4 to 7 years, will have their moment in the spotlight, many for the first time, as they take to the stage to showcase their routines.

The success of the competition heavily relies on the dedication and support of club members, families, and volunteers. Without their assistance, the event would not be possible.
