Brim-KSH finished second to Donald in A-grade in the Wimmera Mallee Cricket Association last season and is seeking a new challenge to breathe life into the club.

The club will enter two teams into the competition. They will field an A-grade side, and then their second side will either be in B-grade or C-grade, depending on the draw and logistics.

Outgoing club president Matthew Crisp said the chance to play two-day games was the drawcard.

"The move is something as a club we have been thinking about for a couple of years, and the young guys have been pushing for it so they can try their hands at two-day cricket," Crisp said.

"The younger guys just want to push their limits and see if they can bowl 18 overs a day, or something like that, and try cricket that way, the way it should be.

"Over the last few years, with the league lacking teams and playing each other so often, we thought joining a bigger association would breathe some life into the club."

"I will be around to lend a hand moving forward, but for now, everyone is looking forward to having a new lease on life and the excitement it brings and can't wait to experience it."

"The feedback from Horsham at the outset was very positive, and now the decision has been made, they are looking forward to a few bus trips to Brim."

Crisp is confident they can recruit a few players, including past players living in Horsham.

"Another drawcard to going to Horsham was that we have a few past players that we could get back to play, and I believe we can add to the current group and strengthen our team," Crisp explained.

While the seniors are moving, the juniors will remain.

"We feel nowhere near developed in the junior competition to come and take on the Horsham teams, and it wouldn't make cricket fun for them," Crisp said.

"We have discussed country week training squads, and their under-14s may play our under-16 Warracknabeal/Brim side in a practice match."
