CFA service awards presented in Rainbow
Last week around 30 members and their partners attended the annual Rainbow Fire Brigade presentation dinner for CFA Service Awards, held at the Rainbow Fire Brigade station.
CFA Awards Presentation - Andrew Cross, Joy McLean, Colin Frew, David Young, Dianne Roberts, Alan Roberts and Acting Deputy Chief Mark Gunning.
Acting District 17, West Region-CFA Deputy Chief, Mark Gunning from Horsham addressed guests and spoke about how the CFA makes a big difference in the community and the people they assist in difficult situations.
"The CFA has come a long way from the Furphy tank with a hand pump," he said.
After the meal, Secretary David Young made a toast to the King followed by Captain Andrew Newnham toasting the CFA.
Mr Gunning was assisted by Brigade Administration Support Officer Jess Dempsey presented service awards to Alan Roberts for 10 years, David Young for 10 years, Andrew Cross for 15 years, Joy McLean for 20 years, Colin Frew for 40 years and Dianne Roberts for 45 years.
