Challenging conditions for monthly shoot

The Warracknabeal Gun Club held its monthly shoot on Saturday in cool and showery conditions.

The first event for the day was a 40 Target Double Barrel Championship. Two shot off for overall, and the eventual winner of the championship was Wayne Hawker from Kaniva. Runner-up was Chris Jorgenson from Horsham.

In AA grade, Wayne Hawker shot 47/47 in the shoot-off, and Chris shot 46/47.

The A-grade results were Wayne Sanders from Hopetoun shooting 37/40, and Roger Duthie from Hamilton, who was runner-up to Wayne, scoring 35/40.

In B-grade, Cyril Love from Hopetoun was successful after a shoot-off with Nick Seipolt, also from Hopetoun. Cyril shot 39/42, and Nick 38/41.

C-grade saw Dennis Hannigan from St. Arnaud shoot 36/40, and Amy Bolwell, the 13-year-old from Horsham, shoot a great 35/40.

The second event for the day was a 20 Double Rise Event.

Ashley Bolwell shot 27/40 in AA-grade. Mark Newcombe from Callawadda won A-grade with 30/40, and Wayne Hawker shot 28/40.

B-grade saw Colin Dunn from Callawadda shoot 32/40, and runner-up was Chris Jorgenson, shooting 31/40.

Lucas Hallam from Hopetoun won C-grade with a score of 26/40, and Ian Heard from Horsham was runner-up with a score of 23/40.
