The popularity of Meal in the Beal continues to grow, with 110 guests enjoying a lavish six-course meal and live entertainment at Warracknabeal Town Hall.

City dining came to the country for a second year, courtesy of the Warracknabeal Action Group (WAG) events committee, which inspired the February 16 event.

Guests were treated to canapés ahead of the specially created meal, which used locally produced products, and generous servings of beer, wine and cider included in the ticket price.

Dimboola chef teacher Cat Clarke and Ararat caterer Jody Sutherland, from Jody & Co Catering, were the brains behind the platters, with canapés made by The Local 165 Cafe and Bar.

WAG president Diane Marchment said it was great to see the town hall full of so many satisfied diners.

"The atmosphere was great," Ms Marchment said.

"It was relaxed and there was great conversation."

The WAG events committe worked with many dedicated volunteers to make the evening a success, and the Warrack Eagles junior netballers played their part as waitresses for the night.

Horsham musician Kailee O'Beirne performed wonderfully throughout the dinner, keeping guests entertained.

"It's a big thing to run an event like this," Ms Marchment said.

She expressed her thanks to everyone for their support for this year's event, with a majority of the guests attending for the first time.

"Who knows what will happen next year," Ms Marchment said.

"Maybe we'll do something different."
