Demons motivated on club's special day

In round 13 of the Horsham District Football Netball League, Laharum hosts Pimpinio on a special day for the club, on which they announce their football and netball teams of the 1990s and 2010s.

Pimpinio comes into the clash full of confidence, following their best performance of the season last week, their narrow four-goal loss to premiership contender Rupanyup.

Laharum, on the other hand, will be looking to put on a show with a lot of past club stars present.

An important clash in terms of finals aspirations will be at Natimuk Showgrounds when Natimuk hosts Kaniva Leeor.

The Rams have won two games in the last three weeks, and the Cougars are currently sitting a game clear in sixth position. This is a fantastic accomplishment, considering they didn't have an A-grade side last year.

Emma Uebergang is fresh off a 48-goal performance, the best of her career. Nikki Hawker and Ruby Gordon are getting better every week for the Cougars and combining well in attack. If Blair Burke is cleared to play this week from injury, it will make them more potent in attack.

A win to Natimuk will keep their slim finals chance alive, while a win for the Cougars sets them up well in the last five matches for a potential finals berth.

Rams' coach Danielle Hanson is confident they can make it hard.

"The first time we played them, we hadn't played together much, and they thrashed us," Hanson said.

"I am confident this week that we will make it hard for them and close the gap on that first game, and I hope we can deliver on the court."

The Swifts are a game behind the Cougars and host Kalkee in an important clash at North Park. If the Swifts lose and the Cougars win, they will be two games behind sixth place.

Kalkee, on the other hand, will be looking to bounce back from their loss to Laharum, which will keep their dream for second place and a doubles final chance alive.

Noradjuha Quantong will be looking to bounce back from a shock loss last week when they travel to Harrow Recreation Reserve to take on an improving Harrow Balmoral side that is fresh from the bye.

Like Kalkee, the Bombers are eyeing that double chance in the finals, and with Rupanyup on the bye, a win will move them equal second.

Edenhope Apsley is quietly moving up the ladder, a game behind the logjam fight for second. They host a Taylors Lake team at Edenhope Recreation Reserve that will be looking to come out firing after a substantial loss last week.
