Coach Matt Walder said they responded to feedback and improved throughout the match.

"At the end of each quarter, we identified and addressed that quarter of the game," Walder said.

"The most pleasing part is the players took that on board and improved on all facets.

"It was impressive how they were able to identify the areas to approve on, put it to work and execute it."

Walder said the signs are positive for the season ahead.

"It takes time to improve. It won't happen overnight," Walder said.

"The playing group has a clear understanding of what they need to do, then the changes will take time. How long and quick, no one knows, but I expect change in a positive way."

The Eagles got through the game unscathed with only one minor injury. Walder said they will play to individual strengths.

"We have identified strengths of some of our key players and we will be implementing a style that works for us.

"We are coordinating it in the practice games after working on it at training.

"We have 25 players that consistently show up to training which is a good sign as a lot of our recruits are off-site at the moment."

The netballers also had a positive game. There was a great turnout for all grades and were able to try different rotations. There were no injuries reported.

The Eagles will play their final practice match against Lake Boga, at Lake Boga on April 6.
