First year coaches top of sensational season
Lifelong friends Tom Mills and Tom Williamson have secured their first coaching premiership and second playing for Ararat.
Both took the reins this year following Matt Walder's move to the Eagles, and both have worked with each other well.
For Williamson, his year also included the Toohey Medal for league best and fairest, and league goalkicking.
"It's been incredible, and it's not the easiest job in the world as it's time-consuming," Williamson said.
"I don't think I could do it without Tom. We bounce so well off each other, and the ability to put our brains together has worked well."
Tom Mills echoed those sentiments.
"It's been hard, but it's a fantastic feeling when you can cap it off," Mills said.
"I couldn't have done it by myself. To have Tom with me together the whole way through is special and we know each other well.
"We have good conversations, and growing up together, born eight days apart, means so much to us and we can't wait to team up again next season."
