Fitzgerald tops off great year
Ava Fitzgerald has been playing 17-and-under and B-grade netball this season in goal defence, and on Saturday, was awarded best on the court in Pimpinio's 17-and-under victory.
Earlier in the week, she came runner-up in the B-grade league best and fairest, polling 25 votes, finishing one behind the winner, Erin Freeland from the Swifts.
This was her first year at Pimpinio after coming from the Horsham Demons, and she was excited after the game.
"It feels pretty good winning the premiership coming into a new club in the last season of juniors," Fitzgerald said.
"This is my second premiership after winning the C-reserve for the Horsham Demons last year.
"It's hard playing both grades, but today, I only had to play one, and it was great that I could do the job for my team, and my teammates played well."
"It's very special playing with them as I love playing netball and we get around each other. The club is so nice, and everyone is so supportive and helpful."
