HDFNL GF Preview: Jones-Story feeling no pressure
Heading into the grand final, league-leading goal-shooter Caitlin Jones-Story is not feeling any pressure and is ready to win her second premiership in her sixth appearance.
Jones-Story has shot 730 goals for the season and won the inaugural league goal-shooting trophy with 695 goals in the regular season.
Jones-Story said it hasn't been her best year, particularly as living in Ballarat means she hasn't trained with the team as much. She usually shoots and trains in Ballarat, and she is still pleased with the year she has had.
"The second half of the season has been the best, but the first half, not so much," Jones-Story said.
"To win the goal shooting, being a shorter goalie is excellent, as it means I need to be more accurate, and that's what I pride myself on."
"I feel no pressure at all heading into the grand final. I love the pressure, noise, and atmosphere and have been there many times before."
"It's just another day; we will take it as it comes. Having the experience will help."
Laharum Coach Rebecca McIntyre said that Caitlin is an inspiration.
"When you practice, you are a good goal shooter, and Caitlin has been a good shooter for a long time as she puts in the effort," McIntyre said.
"On the way to the game on Saturday, she dropped into Stawell and shot a few goals, so her commitment to her craft is what makes her the best in the league."
