Historic Brim Hotel seeks new chapter
The Brim Hotel, a cherished landmark in the heart of Victoria’s Silo Art Trail, is looking for a new lease of life, as its current custodians grapple with serious health challenges.

All three partners, Allan Crane and Steven and Barbara Donelly, who worked tirelessly to reopen the 1886-built hotel last June after a six-year closure, have faced significant heart-related issues, due to which it's getting hard for them to operate further.
“It’s terribly disappointing and unfortunate that we’ve came to this point, where we are selling this historic pub,” Mr Crane said.
“The community here is amazing and incredibly supportive of the hotel,” he said.
The hotel which went on the market in October 2024, has already caught the attention of potential buyers, including interest from Singapore, though no concrete developments have been made.
In the mean time, the Brim Hotel remains operational from Wednesday to Sunday, continuing to serve its loyal patrons until a new owner is found.
Located in the heart of the Silo Art Trail, the historic pub has been a cornerstone of the Brim community for generations, attracting tourists and locals alike, with its charm and warmth as a local 'watering hole'.
For over a century, the Brim Hotel has been a gathering place for friends, families, local clubs and groups and travellers alike.
While the sale marks the end of an era for the current owners, it also opens the door for a new chapter in its storied history.
As the pub seeks its new custodian, the owners remain optimistic that this iconic piece of history will remain a beacon of warmth, culture, and hospitality for years to come.
