Horsham Calisthenics club ends season on a high
The Horsham Calisthenics Club recently concluded its competition season on a high note, with the Intermediate and Senior teams delivering impressive performances at the prestigious Royal South Street Eisteddfod in Ballarat. Established in 1891, the Royal South Street Eisteddfod is Australia's oldest and longest-running eisteddfod, attracting top competitors from across the country.

On Tuesday, October 15th, the club's Intermediate team took to the stage, showcasing their hard work and talent. The team's efforts were rewarded with several accolades: Highly Commended for Aesthetics, Honourable Mention for Clubs, Rods, and Freearm, a 3rd Place finish for March, and an impressive 2nd Place for their Dance Arrangement. Coaches Dianne Walter and Maddison Cook expressed their delight at the team's achievements, stating, "We are so pleased to see how far these girls have come this year. It is a credit to the girls and their commitment to our club."
The competition continued on Thursday, October 17th, when the Seniors took the stage. Competing against seven other teams from Melbourne, Woodend, Geelong, and Gymea in New South Wales, the competition was fierce, with tight scoring throughout. The Seniors earned a Highly Commended award for March, marking the culmination of months of dedicated training.
Senior team coach Kylie Hermans reflected on the journey, saying, "Our Seniors stepped out on stage in style for the prestigious RSSS competition. After many months of training, this was their last competition. Their positive attitude and determination throughout the year have been commendable. As our calisthenics year comes to an end, we look forward to a huge weekend with our concert, 50-year celebrations, and finishing off with our Presentation Day."
