The award, voted by her peers for consistently demonstrating team values, was well deserved with the defender having an excellent season.

Morcom played eight games being a regular in the team after coming back from injury from round four, to finish with 52 possessions of which 36 were constested, eight marks, 18 tackles and an impressive 695 metres gained.

In round four against Fremantle she was awarded the fans performer of the match award.

Dependable and versatile, Morcom’s tagging efforts throughout the second half of the club’s elimination final helped to get the side back in contention against the Cats.

Alex's parents, Carolyn and Mick were there on Thursday night and Carolyn said that they are very proud of her daughter for her achievements.
