Ninety shooters participate in anniversary shoot

On Sunday, August 18, Minyip Field and Game held its anniversary shoot. 90 shooters took to the range in perfect weather, marking a massive day for the club.

Chris Charleson from Swan Hill won the open grade, shooting 91/100 targets.

In AA grade, Craig Handreck from Coleraine won on 89/100, ahead of Minyip's Greg Deutscher and Jason Caldow on 88/100.

Sunraysia's Gavin Pay was victorious in the A-grade with 85/100. Bill Jorgenson (Natimuk) and Ian Gill (Colac) finished second and third on 84/100 and 82/100 respectively.

Colerain's Barton Phillips won the B-grade shooting 80/100, with team-mate Justin Phillips second on 75/100. Natimuk's Trevor Baker rounded out the podium with 75/100.

Donald's Thomas manifold won the C-grade with 64/100, ahead of Dunolly's Boof Lorenzen on 59/100 and Grampians Michelle Parker with 53/100.

Minyip's Jake McKenzie won the sub-junior with a score of 69/100, and Rody Kerrins won second with 10/100.

James Mcneil from the Grampians won the junior competition, shooting 79/100.

In the veteran class, Minyip's Peter Reading won with a score of 75/100, Natimuk's David Scott was second with 72/100, and Bendigo's Russell Cook was third with 69/100.

The ladies winners were all locals, with Minyip's Tanya Clark taking the prize with 63 100. Close behind was Carey Brennan from Donald, on 62 100, with Natimuk's Larelle Souter rounding out the podium.
