Pittsburgh Pirate claims the St Arnaud Cup
Pittsburgh Pirate, trained by Henry Dwyer out of Ballarat, has won the St. Arnaud Cup, ridden over 2000m on Saturday, October 26.

Commander Harry led from the outset, with Pittsburgh Pirate on its outside and Any Luck sitting behind in third.
With 600m to go Pittsburgh Pirate moved up to put the pressure on and took the lead at the turn. Commander Harry fought hard and lifted back, but Pittsburgh Pirate hung on for half a length. Any luck was third, and Handshake finished fourth.
Pittsburgh Pirate is a five-year-old gelding, and he won his sixth race and was ridden by Neil Farley.
Commander Harry was ridden by Linda Meech and trained by Ciaron Maher. Any Luck is trained by Wayne Walters and was ridden by Kate Walkers. Handshake is trained by local Paul Preusker and was ridden by Ryan Houston.
Neil Farley rode four winners on the day, his other wins coming on Sweet Bella in race six, Mahjong in race five, and the Final Quarter in race three.
