RUP/MINYIP are the Horsham Cricket Association A Grade premiers after the grand final came down to the final five overs against the Noradjuha Toolondo Bullants.

The match went down to the wire with Tony Caccaviello, Josh Beddison and Anthony Cutter threatening Rup/Minyip with falling wickets.

However, batsman duo Caleb Lieth and Bailey Young put together successive fours to secure the title.

Their last premiership win came against the Horsham Saints in the 2015/16 season.

The Bullants went up to bat first and finished their 45 overs with seven for 147.

Rup/Minyip’s Lachlan Weidemann, Connor Weidemann and Corey Morgan all took two wickets each.

The Bullant’s Shane Oakley was the highest scoring batsman for his team with 39 runs off 63 balls after three fours and one six.

Rup/Minyip looked to be in a precarious position when they first hit the pitch as five of their first six batsmen went out with single-digit runs, including one duck.

Young turned the tide when he notched 56 runs off 62 balls and was awarded man of the match.

Rup/Minyip saw eight wickets fall, but in the 41st over they made 149 runs to take the win.

In the B Grade, Horsham Saints worked hard to take home the premiership with a win over Laharum.

The Saints headed in to bat first and were all out for 164 with one ball left to face.

Saints’ Gary Davidson was awarded man of the match with a well-timed 87 runs.

Laharum’s Joshua Mahoney was a force when bowling, taking four wickets for the day.

With Laharum’s target set they went out to bat and looked to be off to a steady start.

Mahoney scored the most runs with 35 off 46 balls but it was not enough to make up the difference.

The final wickets fell in quick succession, including two ducks which saw Laharum all out with three balls left in the game and right runs short.

The C Grade grand final saw West Wimmera take home their second trophy for the year after also winning the T20 premiership.

The Warriors headed in to bat first and were able to get some early runs on the board against Horsham Saints Black.

West Wimmera’s Jack Crowhurst was awarded man of the match with 37 runs and later took one for 11.

Brody Devlin took three wickets for the Saints but it was not enough to deter the Warriors from their 141 runs.

In the final over, West Wimmera were all out.

The Saints set out to bat and with three ducks from the first three batters, the Warriors were on track to take the win.

With 17 runs, Karl Goodwin was the highest-scoring Saints batsman of the day.

Bailey Zimmermann, Bailey McQueen and Ash Dickinson took two wickets each for Saints to be all out in the 30th over for 64 runs.
