Safety first at Wattle wing
Visitors to Rural Northwest Health’s Wattle wing are encouraged to consider their health, and reconsider visiting if they are unwell, following a case of influenza at the facility this week.
Nurse Unit Manager Allison Hondow said a resident had tested positive for Influenza A, receiving medical review.
Grampians Public Health Unit were notified, and the team continueS to follow their guidance, including reducing team member movement through the unit, increased cleaning of high-touch surfaces, assisting residents with regular hand hygiene, and increasing PPE to N95 masks and eyewear.
“We continue to actively monitor residents residing in Wattle for symptoms,” Ms Hondow said.
“And, while we have not restricted visitors, we want people to be aware that if they are unwell they should think of their own health and whether they should be entering.
