The two teams consist of years 7/8 and years 9/10. Team tryouts took place in Term one for around six weeks where approximately 40 year 7-10 boys turned up to train and learn the rules.

From there, three teams were selected for the first competition, one year 7/8 team and two year 9/10 teams.

The first competition was the Greater Western Region in Horsham on April 29 where both teams won their games.

The next competition was the regional finals in Colac on Wednesday, May 29.

The difference between them and their opponents at Colac was their ability to understand the game and keep the ball flowing.

The boys have all displayed the school values whilst representing the school which are Excellence, Respect and Resilience.

The teams have been training two days a week at school during lunchtime.

The drive to start boys' netball came last year after a PE unit of Netball where the skill level of the cohort was quite impressive. Teacher, Rikki Nitschke spoke to the boys about the prospect of having a go at boys netball the following year in the school sport program and seeing how far they could progress.

At the beginning of the year, the boys revisited the idea and decided to have a crack.
Macie Nitschke and Lucy Holland are the coaches of the 9/10 team and are local Warrack Eagles Netball Representatives so they have great knowledge to pass on as they have also represented the Wimmera League in interleague teams.

Cody Polack and Sailor Knorpp are the coaches of the 7/8 team who may lack some netball knowledge but make this up with motivation and encouragement.

All coaches have been dedicated from the start and working hard to improve their teams's chances at success.
