The occasion was also used to outline plans for 2024, including an enrolment day on January 18 and an open day on March 2.
The group has more than 200 members who meet at Horsham's former railway station and participate in about 30 classes, including the areas of art and craft, exercise, history, science, computers and languages.
Bob McIlvena, vice-president and president for six years from 2015, said the organisation provided incentives for retired and older people to extend their interest in many areas.
Mr McIlvena said U3A was initiated in France when it was recognised that many older and retired people had accumulated much knowledge during their years but needed avenues to continue learning and to connect with like-minded peers.
"We might be considered to be in God's waiting room but still have much to offer and learn," he said.
The group also uses Horsham's Hamilton Lamb Hall, Horsham Aquatic Centre and the former Italian Social Clubrooms as venues, and organises activities including bus trips and lunches.
