Wimmera COVID cases continue to fluctuate

On Thursday across the Wimmera there are 51 new cases of COVID-19, with 254 total active cases.

ON Thursday across the Wimmera there are 51 new cases of COVID-19, with 254 total active cases.

In the Horsham municipality there were 22 new cases reported, taking the total active cases to 136 on March 17.

In the Northern Grampians 13 new cases were recorded, leaving the total active cases at 46.

Four new cases were recorded in Hindmarsh for a total of 18 active cases, with Yarriambiack recording 45 total active cases after nine new cases were recorded.

In the West Wimmera there were three new cases recorded, with the total active cases at nine.

Across Victoria 63.1 percent of people 18-years-old and above have received their third dose of the vaccine and 94.2 percent of people 12-years-old and above have received two doses of the vaccine.

Across Victoria 3313 new cases were recorded through PCR tests and 7041 Rapid Antigen Test positives were recorded in the 24 hours prior to 12pm, March 17.

There are currently 197 people hospitalised for COVID-19 in Victoria, with six people ventilated, and in the last 24 hours the department was notified of seven lives lost.

Overall there are 44,690 active cases in the state.

The Wimmera Health Care Group drive through testing service on Read Street, Horsham with the entry on Arnott Street is open 8am to 11am daily.

The Horsham Respiratory Clinic is open for COVID-19 testing on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9am to 5pm, Tuesday from 9am to 5pm, Friday from 9.20am to 5pm, Saturday from 10am to 1pm and Sunday from 9am to 12.20pm.
