Wimmera River hosts Australia Day ski event
The Southern Waters Ski Show Team is set to show their stuff on the Wimmera River in Horsham on Australia Day.

THE Southern Waters Ski Show Team is set to show their stuff on the Wimmera River in Horsham on Australia Day.
The Dimboola and Natimuk Ski Clubs are gearing up to put on the ski event with the show team and other local skiers on the afternoon of January 26.
Spectators will be able to enjoy the show from the foreshore at Sawyer Park.
Southern Waters Ski Show Team club president and boat driver Michael Smith said the club was very family orientated.
“The ski shows are like stage shows on water, and our team has quite a few families involved,” he said.
“We can’t plan it all until we get there and we know the depth and what the docks are but we have a rough idea.”
Dimboola Ski Club president Darren Bone said he was working on securing other skiers for the event.
“We could have people who juggle while they ski or do press-ups and ski on their hands,” he said.

Smith said they could be performing lots of different acts including ballet, pyramids and different types of skiing.
“Lots of people wouldn’t know this type of event exists and have never seen it before,” he said.
“That’s why we like to come out to places like this to show what we do.”
