Wyatt – a poem by Edwina Smith
The following piece was contributed to our paper by Edwina Smith, a retired midwife/nurse in Canberra who enjoys penning poems with a rural theme.

Ms Smith said she wrote "Wyatt" about a grain of wheat and its journey to harvest from sowing.
"It promotes the industry and may give good cheer to our hardworking farmers," she said.
Wyatt – by Edwina Smith
Downward dive the roots
He will hold his place
Well worth all his trouble
That we love to eat!
